Accessability at Sambrook Manor Bed & Breakfast

Due to Sambrook Manor B&B being a listed building we cannot offer our mobility-impaired guests total access to our home, as we would wish.  The information given may help in assessing your decision to stay with us.         

We do not wish anyone to book a visit that is unlikely to suit and we will offer our best advice to all prospective guests.  Please ask us before booking if you are at all doubtful or have any particular needs that you would like us to know about i.e. Dietary or disability requirements.  Assistance with luggage is available.         

Ample parking is available adjacent to the house the approach to the front door is through either a garden gate 87cm wide or 120cm wide.  A small 3cm step allows access through the front door and into the hallway.           

The ground floor is on one level giving access to the sitting room and glazed conservatory where breakfast is usually served.  Access to the garden is either via the front door or through the conservatory which has 2 steps down onto the lawn.  All accommodation is on the first floor via an 119cm wide staircase comprising of 17 steps and two 900 turns.  All steps are 16cm tall and 25cm deep.  There is a handrail on the right hand side.         

The double and family rooms have en-suite facilities comprising of WC, washbasin and shower cubicles.  The WCs and washbasins are of standard height and the showers have a step into the cubicle of 16cm in the family room and 23cm in the double room.  The twin room has a separate bathroom, this bathroom has standard WC and washbasin and a shower over the bath.         

The beds measure between 60 and 66cm off the ground.  Each bed is provided with a top sheet and continental duvet with blankets also available in each room, there are sufficient pillows for 2 pillows per person and additional pillows are available on request, we have both feather and synthetic pillows.  Each room is provided with hair-drier, clock radio, remote TV (family & double room have teletext & ceefax) and tea/coffee making facilities.  Doorways measure between 67 & 83cm wide.
